The hook
In an Austin research room, a dying man speaks words he could not have known. The instruments record a signal no one can explain. Then the message asks the team to preserve the evidence—for people who have not been born yet.
Evie Harper insists that every extraordinary conclusion survive ordinary failure: bad sensors, contaminated records, prior knowledge, institutional pressure. But each ordinary explanation collapses, and the message leaves the team with a more dangerous question: if someone is reaching backward through time, why did they choose this room—and why now?
Anchors of Time is an accessible, propulsive story of scientific curiosity, contested evidence, faith, power, and the cost of treating history as a system anyone is entitled to optimize.
