Current phase / exploration

An address for the future.

The Time Anchor Project began as an independent thought experiment in 2013. Today, it is being explored publicly through preservation questions, design and the planning of Anchor 001.

We may never learn
how to send a message
through time.

We can learn
how to preserve one.

Extreme preservation. Durable media. Records that remain readable after their makers, languages and machines have changed.

A Time Anchor brings these questions together around a precisely documented place and moment. Preservation gives the work practical value, whatever the future discovers.
